Fraser Island

We went on a ferry to Fraser Island and then got on a 4WD bus to drive around. Fraser Island is the biggest sand island on the world. Everything is built or growing on sand. The roads are all sand and someone in front of us got bogged. We went to Lake Birrabeen, as you can see the water was very clear. We went on a walk through the rainforest and then drove up the beach in our bus. There were lots of people driving in both directions as well as people fishing. Sometimes
we had to drive through the water and other times over bumpy bits in the sand dunes. We stopped at a shipwreck on the beach and at Eli Creek where lots of people swim (there are sharks off the beach so they don't swim there).

Hervey Bay - Whale Watching

We went on a boat today to see whales. We saw lots of whales and dolphins and some turtles as well. The whales were awesome, they came right up to the boat and I could see their blowholes. They stayed around our boat for about an hour. We saw mostly humpback whales and one small minke.

Goodbye to Eurimbula NP

We were sad to leave our campsite at Eurimbula, we had a great time there.

Eurimbula National Park - Central Queensland

Our new campsite is great. We are right next to a beach and a river. The tide comes in and goes out a very long way. I've been fishing, swimming and building lots of sand villages.

There are lace monitors here. They are big lizards about one metre long. They are awesome! One was at our campsite and when my Dad came back from the beach it climbed up a tree. On the day we arrived we saw three kangaroos and one had a joey in her pouch.

There's a big half truck/half boat called the LARC that drives past each day taking people on a tour. It's painted pink and looks really funny when it goes across the river and out the other side.

Gladstone

We left Mackay and saw my Nanny and Poppy at their caravan park in Rockhampton. It was nice to see them. We stayed one night in this cabin at Gladstone and I got to play in a cool playground.

Mackay

Mackay is a place where they grow lots of sugar cane. Our campsite was right next to the beach. It was a bit windy for some of the time we were there and lots of people were kite surfing. I did some wave surfing on my boogey board.

Bowen

Bowen is a town in Queensland that has nine beaches we have been to a few of them while we've been here. We have our own toilet and shower at our campsite. We have had three green tree frogs in there.
