Tumbling Waters
We've been at a really great caravan park where they have crocodiles and you can watch movies at night on the grass in your camping chair. Some men came and showed us how to make didgeridoos and played them for us. You have to make a raspberry with you lips to make the sound. My Dad is practicing. Here's a picture of me doing my school work one day. I don't really like doing my journal and sometimes I'm all tired out.

Kakadu - Nourlangie
Nourlangie is another place there is aboriginal art. There is a big area between rocks where the people used to live. The paintings at Nourlangie are about some of the dreamtime stories. One big guy used to throw yams at people. There is a painting of Lightening Man, the picture has stone axes on his elbows and knees that he used to make the bangs of thunder. You really can't go in the rivers here because the crocs are salties (saltwater crocodiles) and they are meat eaters!
Kakadu - Ubirr
We went to Ubirr at the top of the Kakadu National Park. It has a big
rock overhang with lots and lots of rock art. The aboriginal people
here painted the animals they used for food. They did an x-ray type of
painting showing bones and muscles inside the animals. There was a
painting of a Tasmanian tiger from when they were in Kakadu a long time ago.

The Churchills in Kakadu
This is my family on the road in Kakadu. When A. Bear isn't reading
maps or in the backpack for loooooong walks he relaxes by the pool.

Kakadu - Yellow Water Billabong
We went on a cruise at sunrise and saw brumbies (wild horses), a sea eagle and lots of crocodiles. They call this little bird a Jesus bird because it looks like it can walk on water (it's really walking on weeds and lilypads). After the cruise we had a big, big breakfast.
Kakadu - Cooinda
Our camp in Kakadu was at Cooinda. They have a great pool and that was good because it was very very hot. I did some backflips with my Dad.

Elsey National Park
While staying at Mataranka we went just up the road to the Elsey National Park and went swimming in this river. The man at our campsite told us that he likes to swim there and that it's easy to see if there are any crocodiles around. The crocodiles here are freshwater crocodiles and they are very shy and don't eat people. There were lots of dragonflies around.
